With vibrant hot springs opening less than 10 years ago the Reykjadalur valley is one of the liveliest places just a heartbeat away from Reykjavik. We’ll ride great trails leading through the valley, bathe in a natural hot spring and enjoy the hospitality at Hveragerði town.

Rough itinerary

Today we’ll start the tour approximately 30 minutes drive from Reykjavík, right at Ölkelduháls. Ölkelduháls is an area within the geothermal site above Hveragerði town. The area is warm and active, the latest hot springs are less than 10 years old, emerging in earthquakes in the area.

Starting with a short traverse we ride from Ölkelduháls through the Reykjadalur valley. In the valley riders can expect to view untamed natural forces in various moody hot springs, great mix of natural trails and man made gravel paths. We will finishing our trip in the lovely town of Hveragerði where participants can sit down and enjoy the local hospitality at a restaurant in town. On the way we’ll enjoy light snacks and dip our toes into the cozy hot springs in this magical place.
